Design 2069 Queequeg

Queequeg was constructed of wood by Halvorsen, Morson & Gowland of Sydney, Australia. Her design brief was for a boat with good ocean racing characteristics and ease of handling. She was launched in 1971.

For whatever reason we don't have a small scale general arrangement plan handy for this design. We do have a description as follows: Aft - 2 quarter berths port & starboard, toilet room on port, galley on starboard opposite. Main cabin - dinette converts to double berth on port, pilot and transom berth to starboard. Fo'castle - pipe berths port & starboard with wash basin and marine toilet. That's easy enough to envision I suppose.


A sistership was built by W. A. Souter & Son of the Isle of Wight, England and launched in 1973, named Windliese 9. She's essentially the same boat with different woods used in her construction, increased sail plan and different window shapes. Here she is.
