Design 1230 Mermaid
This lovely ketch was built by Paul E. Luke of East Boothbay, Maine for a very successful Maine businessman, Austin Goodyear. She has been a fixture in Maine waters since her launch in 1957. She had been a one-owner boat until her owners death at 85 years of age. She is now owned by a local summer resident and continues to grace Penobscot Bay. She is very active in classic yacht racing in and around New England.
The boat was built primarily as a cruising boat. She has a beautiful butternut interior.
Here are the plans.
